This is a hands-on 60-90 minute course designed for safety professionals and engineers who want to influence without authority. Whether you’re struggling to get your message across to leadership or other stakeholders. If you want to lead with more impact, this course gives you the tools to connect, reframe, and persuade authentically. In just about an hour, you’ll apply the F.L.O.W.™ model to your own real-life challenge and walk away with a message you’re proud to deliver. This is the Essentials level of your Safety Influencer journey.

Core Learning Objective
You will demonstrate that you can influence 1 decision-maker by crafting and delivering a clear, 2-minute influence message that links safety to their business priorities.

Supporting Learning Objectives
  1. You will learn the essentials of the F.L.O.W.™ Model.
  2. You will demonstrate that you can identify a barrier to influence in your current context by reflecting on a recent situation where your input was not acted upon.
  3. You will demonstrate that you can define your stakeholder’s key driver (e.g., cost, continuity, reputation) by completing a simplified stakeholder mapping prompt.
  4. You will demonstrate that you can draft a short influence message that reframes a safety challenge in terms that matter to the stakeholder.

What drives me is simple: I believe that everyone deserves a workplace that is safe and when people feel safe they show up, perform at their best, speak up, and grow.

Over the past 25+ years, I’ve worked in leadership roles in operations, HSE and supply chain in international organizations like Shell, AkzoNobel and as CEO in circular cleantech. That journey has taught me a lot about leadership, complexity, and what it takes to build trust in fast-moving, high-pressure environments. I founded Be Human Be Safe because I’ve seen how powerful it is when safety becomes something we live, not just something we check off.

I love working with leaders and teams, creating space for honest conversations, energy, and learning that actually sticks. Whether I’m speaking to a group or coaching one-on-one, my goal is always the same: to help people connect, to themselves, to each other, and to what really matters.
